Bobby Allen Receives 2012 President’s Award From Acme Brick Company

Bobby Allen, one of Acme Brick Company's longest serving employees was awarded the company's coveted President's Award. This award is presented annually to the Acme Brick employee whose efforts reflect the type of performance that has made the company successful over its 120-year history. Specifically, candidates must demonstrate measured improvement in their area of responsibility and extraordinary service to Acme Brick Company and its customers.

Allen was hired by in January 1976 – 37 years ago. However, prior to that, he also worked at Acme before his military duty required him to leave for a time.

The company says Allen is an excellent example of the long-term, hard working associates who have helped build Acme Brick Company. He is dependable, honest, down-to-earth, hardworking, knowledgeable, personable, frugal, responsive, and modest, Acme stated in a news release.

Allen has saved the company millions of dollars during his career. For instance, during 2012, he completed a project to change Acme's telecommunications systems to save more than $30,000 per month.

Dennis Knautz, president and CEO of Acme Brick said, "Bobby Allen represents the kind of employee who has enabled Acme Brick Company to be successful for nearly 122 years."

Acme, America's largest brick company, was established on April 17, 1891. Acme Brick and its affiliated companies: Featherlite Building Products, Texas Quarries, American Tile, and the IBP Glass Block Grid System, are owned by Berkshire Hathaway.
