RAM Advanse

Software to design “hybrid” masonry and steel structures – buildings with reinforced masonry infill and structural steel frames analyzed as an integrated structural system – is now available from Bentley Systems, Inc. The company developed the software with the cooperation of the International Masonry Institute, the National Concrete Masonry Association and Ryan-Biggs Associates. Bentley says that even engineers who are not well versed in finite element analysis should be able to work with the software. This new analysis option within RAM Advanse makes it easier for engineers to account for the effect of both the reinforced masonry infill and the steel frame, treating both as structural elements that work hand-in-hand as an economical and efficient structural system.
