Fall 2009 Industry News BIA Announces 2009 Brick In Architecture Award Winners The Brick Industry Association (BIA) announced the recipients of its 2009 Brick in Architecture Awards, which honor innovative use of clay brick in eight categories: commercial, educational, health care facilities, houses of worship, multi-family residential, municipal/government, paving and landscape architecture, and single family residential applications. Four renowned architects from around the country independently reviewed and scored each entry. “The rich quality of responses made it difficult for the judges to pick winners in each category,” said Dick Jennison, president & CEO of BIA. “We received almost 200 entries this year, and in the end, eight outstanding projects were chosen as the best in their field because the jury believed they best demonstrated clay brick’s performance benefits, aesthetic appeal, and versatility.” The winning projects are listed here.
