Revit® Architecture

Revit Architecture software works the way architects and designers think. The innovative building design and documentation system helps you work naturally, design freely and deliver efficiently. Purpose-built for building information modeling (BIM), Revit Architecture mirrors the real world of buildings, and helps accurately capture early design concepts and maintain vision through design, documentation and construction. Revit can consider masonry as a material for walls, either with a single layer or a compound layer of materials; will show the masonry in plan, section or elevation; and track the masonry materials through quantity takeoff schedules. Sustainable design and energy analysis is supported through easy exchange with partner applications, and parametric change technology automatically coordinates changes everywhere in a project, including model views, drawing sheets, schedules, sections and plans. Design and documentation stay coordinated, consistent and complete.

For most architects today, Building Information Modeling (BIM) is the elephant in the room. We know BIM and Revit take the efficiencies of CAD drawings and launch them into a near seamless technological integration of the entire design/build process that will ultimately change the way every architect works.

By all accounts, the BIM for Masonry (BIM-M) Initiative is moving at an ever-increasing pace. In April 2015, the first BIM-M Symposium brought together architects, structural engineers, manufacturers, suppliers, software vendors, construction managers, mason contractors and others. You should have been there.
