LAR 300 Rotary Laser – Rugged, Precise, and Efficient Horizontal Leveling Made Easy

Words: Jeffrey Beck

STABILA’s reputation for high-end measuring products and German engineering shines through in the LAR 300 Rotary Laser. This laser combines simple functionality with high precision across large distances and unmatched durability.

Key Features

Precision and Ease of Use
The fully automatic red beam rotary laser is ideal for horizontal leveling, offering a working range of 2,600 feet, perfect for outdoor applications. Quick to set up with its rapid self-leveling function, the LAR 300 is ready for use in just ten seconds. Mount it on a tripod or set it where needed, press the button, and it will quickly self-level up to 5 degrees. If the angle exceeds 5 degrees, integrated LEDs will flash to indicate it is outside the leveling range. The LEDs also alert users to vibrations, common on construction sites, which may affect the laser’s position. However, the automatic re-leveling function usually offsets these vibrations.

Advanced Receiver Technology
Included with the LAR 300 is the REC 300 Digital Receiver. This rugged receiver is perfect for accurately reading the rotary laser. To meet the demands of various work situations, it features displays on the front and rear, providing visual and acoustic guidance. The easily readable digital display shows your deviation from grade, and you can switch between imperial and metric scales. Directional arrows indicate which way to go to stay on grade, displaying deviations from the reference plane as fractions of an inch directly on the display. This precise feedback allows for easier and more accurate height corrections compared to receivers that do not display deviations numerically. The REC 300 also offers volume settings for audio guidance and two sensitivity levels for fine or coarse work and is rated IP67 for dust and water resistance.

Unmatched Durability
Durability is often a concern with rotary lasers, but not with the LAR 300. Featuring the STABILA Protector System, this rotary laser is designed to withstand the harsh conditions of construction sites. The heavy-duty outer rubber over mold provides unparalleled protection, ensuring the laser remains intact even if it falls from a height of up to 6 feet. Once remounted or picked up, simply switch it on and continue measuring. The LAR 300 is waterproof and dustproof (IP65 rated) and can operate in temperatures from 14°F to 140°F.

Battery Life and Warranty
The LAR 300 can be operated with long-life batteries or an optional powerful Li-ion rechargeable battery. All STABILA rotary levels come with a 2-year warranty covering any manufacturer defects due to faulty materials or workmanship. Additionally, STABILA rotary lasers include a 5-year free calibration service. If service is needed, factory-trained technicians at the Elgin, Illinois headquarters will evaluate and service the laser within 48 hours.
