Old Royal Naval College - Les Misérables (2012)
The Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich, UK, stands as a sweeping estate that represents the absolute peak of English masonry. Conceived with breathtaking scale and precision, the monumental complex is defined by its striking Portland stone facades. This gleaming white limestone gives the buildings their majestic, classical appearance, projecting an image of enduring strength and royal prestige. However, beneath this refined exterior lies an immense structural secret: millions of carefully laid bricks form the hidden core of the estate, providing the necessary support for Wren's ambitious design.

The grand estate can easily double for the aristocratic streets of historic Paris, the soot-stained corners of Victorian London, or even a heavily guarded royal palace. This ability was famously put to use in the musical adaptation of Les Misérables (2012), where the estate's monumental architecture provided a striking, revolutionary setting.

Fort Point - Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014)

Mentmore Towers - Batman Begins (2005)
Built in the 19th century, Mentmore Towers is a breathtaking country house that stands as a premier example of Jacobethan architecture. Designed with meticulous attention to detail, the sprawling estate showcases the immense wealth and ambition of the Victorian era. The structural core of the mansion relies on sturdy brick walls, but its magnificent visual impact comes from the exterior cladding. The facade is entirely faced with high-quality Ashlar stone, finely cut, perfectly squared stone masonry that gives the building its remarkably smooth, commanding appearance.

Beyond its architectural splendor, Mentmore Towers has forged an incredibly versatile and iconic legacy on the silver screen. The estate's imposing Ashlar stone exterior and palatial interiors made it the perfect choice to portray the ancestral Wayne Manor in Christopher Nolan’s superhero origin story, Batman Begins (2005). The building's shadowed grandeur perfectly captured the brooding, billionaire legacy of Bruce Wayne.
