The BIM-M Initiative Announces the Productivity With Mobile Devices Seminar

Words: David Biggs

The Building Information Modeling for Masonry (BIM-M) initiative announces the “Productivity with Mobile Devices” seminar to be held in conjunction with Masonrypalooza in Phoenix, Ariz., on Nov. 14, 2014. The site is the DoubleTree by Hilton Phoenix Tempe, 2100 South Priest Drive, Tempe, AZ 85282.

Masonrypalooza Phoenix is a two-day event of the Mason Contractors Association of America (MCAA), which is the U.S. national trade association representing mason contractors. The event is open to anyone interested in the masonry industry. Productivity with Mobile Devices is for masons, masonry contractors, construction managers, and general contractors. It will familiarize you with the use of the tools of the future (mobile devices and applications) in the construction industry and how these tools are transforming the workplace. Using mobile devices can significantly help you with various aspects of your work. Specific mobile applications range from communications, meeting records, BIM apps for the field, record keeping, planning, scheduling, and more.

While BIM for Masonry is steadily evolving, learning about the use of mobile devices and apps will improve your business efficiency now, MCAA says. Ultimately, you will be provided with many possible solutions and applications for your business. These will assist you now and help you with transitioning to an electronically-managed office and field environment, the association continues.

BIM-M is an initiative of the masonry industry with major sponsorship from MCAA, International Masonry Institute (IMI), International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers (IUBAC) and National Concrete Masonry Association (NCMA). Foundation and assistance from the Charles Pankow Foundation.
