Jaffari Earns LEED Certification

Words: Ann WolterThe Rocky Mountain Masonry Institute (RMMI) announced that RMMI Technical Assistant Shahnaz Jaffari has earned LEED Accredited Professional certification. Jaffari passed the LEED examination on the first attempt, putting her in an elite class of testers nationwide.

The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™ is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high-performance green buildings. LEED Professional Accreditation distinguishes individuals with detailed knowledge of LEED project certification requirements and processes, and a command of integrated design principles. LEED accreditation is awarded to building industry practitioners who successfully demonstrate these proficiencies on a comprehensive exam.

Jaffari holds a master's degree in construction management, is a University of Colorado at Denver graduate student of architecture, and is a former owner of an architectural firm in Iran. She is in charge of the members-only technical section of the RMMI website, and also handles technical questions from architects, engineers and mason contractors.

RMMI is a consortium of more than 100 companies throughout the states of Colorado, Wyoming, Montana and Idaho. The organization includes brick and concrete masonry manufacturers, stone producers, mason contractors, suppliers and associates. RMMI's mission is to increase the use and understanding of masonry products and systems throughout the Rocky Mountain region.
