Business Briefs: Walker Zanger

Masonry Design Magazine

This past summer, Walker Zanger received two 2008 ADEX Awards (Awards for Design Excellence) for the unique and contemporary designs featured in two of its newest collections. The Studio Moderne Collection by Michael Berman earned a Gold ADEX Award, and the Vibe Mosaics Collection earned a Silver ADEX Award.

The Studio Moderne Collection (pictured) fuses ceramic tile and natural stone products into one all-encompassing line. Featuring dimensions as large as 16 inches by 16 inches, this collection inspires homeowners and designers alike to redefine their perception of tile. Designs in the Vibe Mosaics Collection put a new spin on the geometries and colors that defined the ‘60s and ‘70s, in rugged tiles that can be used for both walls and flooring and that are durable enough to grace virtually any room of the home.

ADEX, sponsored by Design Journal magazine, is one of the largest and most prestigious product design awards program in America. This is the second consecutive year Walker Zanger has received an ADEX Award. MD

I’ve been noticing an uptick in a very specific kind of application lately, and once you see the pattern, you can’t unsee it. The résumé usually reads like a family photo album. “Started helping my dad when I was 15.” “Worked summers, then full time.” “R
