Texas and Arkansas Chambers of Commerce Honor Acme Brick

Words: Bronzella Cleveland

Acme Brick recently was honored by the Austin, Texas and Malvern/Hot Springs, Ark., chambers of commerce for the company’s continued support and dedication to those respective local and state economies.

Acme Brick Company was recognized by the Austin area Chamber of Commerce for 50 years of membership in the organization in a February 17 ceremony.

Addressing the group at the presentation, a chamber official said, “It’s a privilege working with such incredible partners here at the Chamber. We’re proud to have a dedicated membership and to have the pleasure of thanking our 25 and 50-year members.”

“Supporting this great organization is part of our company’s overall commitment,” said Shawn McElroy, Acme’s Austin district manager. “We strive not only to make and sell superior products, but also to contribute to our local communities in every way possible.”

The Malvern/Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce recognized Acme Brick as the “Business of the Year for 2014” at the organization’s recent annual banquet where a chamber official noted that, “Acme’s Malvern plants make 257 million bricks per year and the company has been involved with Malvern’s annual Brickfest for 34 years.”

The brick manufacturer has been an active member of the Malvern/Hot Springs Chamber for more than 50 years.

Acme Brick Company, founded in 1891, is the nation’s largest brickmaker. Acme owns 26 brick plants and has 70 company-owned sales offices across 17 states, plus a nationwide network of independent distributors.
